Saskatoon Real Estate Market Heating Up!

Like most real estate markets there are busy and slow periods. In 2007 the Saskatoon real estate market didn’t experience any slow periods. Our real estate market was the fastest growing market in Canada. At the end of 2007 the average selling price on a home in Saskatoon was $232,362. In January 2007 average price was $190,037 and it ended in December 2007 with $255,271.

During the holidays we saw a brief slow down which most people expected to carry until at least February or March. As we have already seen so far this year this is not the case. The Saskatoon real estate market is heating up and as early as the beginning of January we have started seeing presentation of offers (bidding wars) start to pop up again. In many cases homes are being sold after only being on the market for a few days. This trend is projected to continue throughout the year so if you were planning on waiting until spring to buy then you may want to reconsider. Whether you are looking to buy or sell a home in the Saskatoon real estate market I am your Realtor!
